#109 Jessie McLachlan - Music, Medicine and Tackling Homelessness

Jessie McLachlan has an extraordinary story.Growing up in Brisbane and helping take care of her grandmother throughout high school meant a unique experience. After school, she chased her music dreams over in New York but ran into a medical problem which left her with a $500,000 bill! She stayed resilient and overcame this challenge and went on to study in California and follow her family lineage of doctors. She became a doctor for some huge celebrities and found herself on private jets and living a wild life! But the thing I love most about her story is what she is doing now for homelessness in both USA and Australia. She learned after her medical bill how many people are homeless because of this and empathised with them. She then created a festival to help at-risk youth and homeless people. In 2020 the american festival had 10,000 participants! She is now about to have her fist Australian version of this festival called Altru - www.wearealtru.com/A few key topics in this chatGrowing up in BrisbaneFamiluy of doctors and grandparents influenceChasing music in New YorkDoctor for the Stars in LAHomelessnessFestivals!I loved this chat and so will you!Jessie's LinksINSTAGRAM - www.instagram.com/jessiemclachlan/?hl=enWEBSITE - www.wearealtru.com/This episode is proudly sponsored by Ārepa Brain Performance Drink!
