#96 Nina Kennedy - Pole Vaulter, Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist, Olympian

Nina Kennedy is one of my new favourite humans! She grew up in Western Australia and still lives in Perth. At age 11 Nina fell in love with little athletics and had clear talent from the start. After being scouted to be a pole vaulter when she was 13 she hasn't looked back.Nina broke the junior world record when she was 14 and now holds the Australian record too! She competed in the Tokyo Olympics and also the Gold Coast and Birmingham Commonwealth Games where she brought home a Bronze and Gold medal! But it isn't her accolades that impressed me the most. It was her honesty and open mind. We related on so many topics when it came to finding your identity as an athlete and thinking outside the box when it comes to mental health.A few key topics in this chatGrowing up with a relaxed family lifeMoving to Perth and falling in love with athleticsScouted as a pole vaulterworld junior record followed by a huge disappointmentStruggles of high schoolUnderstanding herself betterCompeting at the Olympics and Commonwealth GamesWorld number 2!I loved this chat and so will you!Nina's LinksINSTAGRAM - www.instagram.com/ninakennedy_This episode is proudly sponsored by Ārepa Brain Performance Drink!
