Jamie Lassner

Jamie Lassner joins the show! He tells Dr. Cohen about working as an EMT on September 11th (9:30 minute mark) and witnessing the second plane hit the World Trade Center. He also explains why it was difficult to accept that he was suffering from PTSD after the terrorist attacks, and what happened when he decided to seek treatment. Then, Jamie tells us about the volunteer work he does now (31 minute mark), which includes working with Alan T. Brown and the Accessibility Accelerator organization to take people with disabilities to the top of Kilimanjaro. He also tells us about working in Ukraine to help people with disabilities evacuate and find safe housing. To find out more about how you can help, visit accessibilityaccelerator.org

Om Podcasten

Gross Antaomy is where pop culture and health culture meet. Dr. Jason Cohen and Ali address medical questions that the doc is asked by friends, family, and often strangers. We also love to talk pop culture and how it relates to health and medicine — like celebrity diets, Amy Schumer speaking out about endometriosis and our doctor reviews of medical TV and movies. We also splice in professional interviews, check out our episode with TV writer and The Resident co-creator Dr. Roshan Sethi, or our interview with famous plastic surgeon Dr. Robert Rey aka DR. 90210, and don't miss our Q&A with Miss USA Nana Meriwether and many more!
