Introducing: The Amelia Project

Hey Listener, Damian here... and it's feed drop day! So while I’m deep in the writing room on Scarlett and Hannahpocalypse Season 3, we’re dropping something special to keep you occupied in the meantime. When I first stumbled into modern audio drama, The Amelia Project was one of my very first listens- and the one that set the bar for me. Picture, if you will, a clandestine agency that fakes your death so that you can slip away and start fresh. Their clients range from cult leaders to maverick entomologists- each more delightfully bizarre than the last. I mean what if there was such an agency? What if there was an organization that could make it actually happen? Disappear you in a big way so that nobody would ever come looking for you.  I know that if I were staging my own big exit, I’d want a proper flourish… and I know that Amelia would get the job done right. I still remember the first time I hit play- floored by the sound design and the simple elegance of the show's execution: Interview style. The hushed office ambience, the clink of cups, that electric possibility of vanishing. It’s as dark and rich as cocoa and as silly as the sudden and unexpected reappearance of a missing Malteser. A perfect blend of comedy and mystery. If you like Dirk Gently’s oddball logic or Monty Python’s twisted wit, you’re going to live for this. Or die for it. Who am I to judge? And don’t let the anthology format fool you: there’s an overarching plot that drags you back to The Amelia Project’s secret origins across the ages. So do yourself a favour: start at Episode 1, binge the archive. It’ll keep you busy for awhile. Find The Amelia Project wherever you get your podcasts or hit ameliapodcast.com for more details. Alright, back to writing for me. Stay alive out there in whatever passes for our own dystopian version of the Wild Wasteland... and hey, consider giving Amelia a call if you need to get away.
