Nitric Oxide, Breathing, and the Novel Coronavirus
John had the pleasure to interview Louis Ignarro — who had a key role in the discovery of nitric oxide. When you breathe in through your nasal passage nitric oxide is formed and viruses are kept at bay. Nasal breathing will mean the difference between life or death for some people with coronavirus. Nitric oxide opens up airways so you can breathe easier; it opens up arteries so blood gets pumped easier and in turn you have greater oxygenation of the blood.
