In this episode Brian interviews Don Blew of Centerton Nursery who started working for the family business as a senior in high school, making $7.00/hour. Beginning as a backyard hobby, Don’s grandparents started the nursery in 1974 and sold only two types of plants. Today, Centerton Nursery grows over 1600 different plants and sells them to over 900 dealers in 32 states. Don explains how they made the decision to give away a lot of plants and how they dealt with COVID head-on by spreading the positive attributes of gardening.
