Helen Joyce is an Irish journalist and a critic of trans ideology. She studied as a mathematician and worked in academia before becoming a journalist. From 2005 to 2022 she was a staff writer for The Economist, where she held a variety of jobs including education editor, Brazil correspondent (based in São Paulo), International editor, Finance editor and Britain editor. She published her book Trans: When Ideology Meets Reality in 2021.
