Jacques and Claudine Pepin on Cooking Across Four Generations

Chefs Jacques Pepin and Claudine Pepin join host Martie Duncan to discuss art, treasured family memories, and the secrets to happy cooking. In the spirit of his new book, Jacques Pepin: Quick and Simple, the chefs share weeknight dishes ranging from Claudine’s beloved, two-ingredient, soupe aux vermicelles, to Jacques’ “fridge soup.” They also tell what dishes beginner cooks should make to build their confidence in the kitchen. For the Pepins, cooking is not only the family business, but a source family stories. Claudine reminisces on summers spent cooking with her grandmother in France. Jacques tells about times in the kitchen cooking with young Claudine in his arms, later making cakes at her school, and continuing the tradition with his granddaughter, Shorey. Both Jacques and Claudine also talk about memories of Julia Child. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
