Episode 92: Laura Doorneweerd-Perry on Leveling up
When Laura is not traveling the world, she can be found cycling the Amsterdam canals between her jobs as a trainer, performer, entrepreneur, and cat mom. Together with her spouse Gael, she founded Flock Theatre. These two improv nerds found each other through improvisation and are now teaching and producing theatrical improvisation. Laura has a background in scripted theatre, dance, business studies, training design, directing plays and entrepreneurship. With her 20+ years of teaching experience, she teaches other improv teachers. We are talking about teachers experience and how that effects the class, to have attitudes instead of rules and auditioning for an ensemble. We talk about creating and directing formats, to run a theatre and feminsm in improv. We´re also talking about the importance of taking small steps, focus on the audience and ambitions.
