🇳🇱#11 Mariëlle van Hemert - Everyone can become circular #COVID19
🙃TODAY, I AM HAPPY TO INTRODUCE YOU TO MARIËLLE VAN HEMERT, she is the co-founder of Circular Stories. Her and her partner Ellekari believe in the power of stories - From parents reading to children, to Barack Obama speach : we all know a good story can change our view on the world. And ... they want to change the world. How ? well, our planet is in despair, we are all at home, witnessing the world changing behind our screens. There is fear, isolation, panic, sickness ... there is Death. Deaths. To many of them. Isn't that a moment for our wake up call ? Can we transform fear into love? Isolation into solidarity? Panic into light and energy? and sickness doesn't have to aim our soul... Can we honor deaths of our loved ones and strangers to a rebirth of our society? “Only a crisis - actual or perceived - produces real change" says Milton Friedman. Old models don’t apply, ressources are limited, less impact on our dear pacha mama, planet earth is needed. Some mindshifts and concrete actions in business are necessary. Mariella is contributing to that change... she wants to inspire frontrunner entrepreneurs and consumers to go circular. But what is circular ? it's an economic system aimed at eliminating waste and the continual use of resources. Cause we don't have much left, obviously. Circular systems employ reuse, sharing, repair, refurbishment, remanufacturing and recycling to create a close-loop system, minimising the use of resource inputs and the creation of waste, pollution and carbon emissions. Cleary Circular Stories is the campaign for a new economy. I think we all need to focus on how we can do things differently. I am taking this time to rethink my projects, my goals and places I want to put my energy in. I'm inviting you to take this time as an opportunity to pause, and reflect. For your info, this episode was recorded a few weeks ago, on my way to a psychedelic retreat. The taste of that episode is very different today. It seems even more important to share purpose driven ways of doing business, aligning interests of everyone and everything including our mother earth. Marielle is an incredible woman I met on a yoga retreat in Ibiza. She comes from the Netherlands, and lives in Utrech. She's been travelling, connecting, discovering her own world. Sensitive, driven, visionnary and inspiring, Mariella follows her true calling since... forever. She's findging ways to adress controvertial or new ways of doing in every project she's dealing with : either when she was a pharmacist, launching a business to balance the effect of hard drugs on our imun system, or via her lastest project creating circular systems everywhere possible. Curiosity, innovation, freedom, inspiration, sense of intergrity : this is what drives her, and that is what she puts this into her projects. 🙃IN THIS EPISODE, we are learning about what is the circular economy as well as concrete exemple that have manage to close the loop, you'll understand what that means soon.
