Ep. 347 Empowering Women through the Passionistas Project with sisters Amy and Nancy Harrington

Invest In Her host Catherine Gray talks with sisters, Amy and Nancy Harrington, founders of The Passionistas Project, who have created a growing community of women who are following their passions and working to level the playing field for us all. The Passionistas Project is a feminist family tree of women business owners, artisans, activists and more, who are joining Amy and Nancy's mission to build a global network of women supporting women.   Before starting The Passionistas Project, Amy was the Vice President of Post Production and Visual Effects for all feature films at Warner Bros. working on movie franchises like “Harry Potter,” “Batman” and “The Matrix.” Nancy had her own successful theater company and graphic design firm in Boston before moving to California and working as a creative executive, producing Academy Awards campaigns for Miramax.   They ultimately decided to join forces and embark on a new journey together, founding Pop Culture Passionistas®. Their love of pop culture led them to a career as celebrity interviewers, conducting or producing over 1,400 interviews including over 60 one-on-one in-depth oral histories and hundreds of high-octane red carpet interviews at the Emmys including Mick Jagger, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Deepak Chopra, Carol Burnett and more.   They ultimately decided to use their interviewing skills to create a platform where women can tell their own unfiltered stories — from a street artist to a tea entrepreneur, a Black Lives Matter attorney to an auctioneer, Amy and Nancy use their media company to shine a light on the positive stories of women worldwide.   www.sheangelinvestors.com  https://www.thepassionistasproject.com/ https://linktr.ee/Passionistas   Follow Us On Social Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | LinkedIn

In her Ted Talk, “Fund Women- Save The World”, Catherine talks about why women are underfunded. The people making the decisions in the investment world are typically white men- and because people tend to invest in people they identify with, it is no wonder most of the money goes to men. We need more women angel investors, and more women at the decision-making table in order to change this scenario.
