Season 4 Episode 18: The Murder of Melissa Tremblay Melissa Tremblay was only 11 years old when she was found murdered on Monday September 12, 1988 in Lawrence Massachusetts. She had gone missing the afternoon before nearby the Lasalle Social Club in Lawrence. The autopsy revealed that little Melissa or "Missy" as her friends called her, had been beaten, stabbed twice in her chest and her liver and her throat has been slashed. She also had a fractured skull and a large bruise on her back. Her left leg was also severed by means of her body being put on the train tracks at B&M Railroad. While police investigated all leads, the case went cold until 2014 when authorities teamed up with the company Identifiers to develop a genealogy profile from DNA. Armed with this profile, police made an arrest for her murder on April 22, 2022. The suspect was extradited to Massachusetts to face charges and the judicial process, however, a guilty verdict still hasn't been handed down and he remains behind bars awaiting a second trial.
