Why are video game movies always awful?

In this episode we break down the tragic relationship between film and gaming, and also dive into the storied lore of…story and gaming… The main obstacle to a good video game adaptation is story... the tasks and challenges are simple but you have hours to fall in love with characters....and time? Time is not something you have a lot of in movies. That could be why video games don’t make good movies. BUT is there a chance, that maybe with the success of The Witcher we’ll see more video game properties turned into TV shows? Who knows.
