Day 6: Hands of God - Italia '90 - One day at a Time

Two games today and two hand ball incidents with very different outcomes. In Udine, Spain and Uruguay became the last two teams to begin their campaign and ended up deadlocked at 0-0 although Uruguay had a golden chance to win the game after Francisco Villarroya handled the ball on the goal line to prevent a certain goal. Rubén Sosa blew the chance to win it as he blazed the penalty.  The second hand ball came from the hand of Maradona early in his side's crucial clash with the Soviet Union in Naples. The Argentina number ten stopped a goal with his hand but the transgression went unpunished and the reigning champions went on to win a tight tussle 2-0. On the show today Rob and Ciaran look back at both games and journalist Danny Carey joins the show to look back at one of the football tunes that was all across the Irish airwaves during the tournament.
