Nina's Gems: Getting in the room (in life)

Nina Gloster grew up in the very diverse city of Silver Spring, Maryland, right outside the nation’s capitol. She obtained a bachelors degree from Spelman College where she double-majored in Comparative Women’s Studies and African American Studies and minored in Film. Nina also holds a Masters of Fine Arts from University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. During which, she spent several months working in Cape Town, South Africa directing a documentary “People Who Fell From The Sky”, which highlights the connection between the experiences of lack of identity with African Americans and Coloured South Africans, post-colonization. She worked on Fox’s hit show STAR since its series pickup and in 2016 was staffed as a Television Writer in 2017. She’s gone into to work onto other cable shows since, such as Intercepted. In 2019, Nina was given the opportunity to co-write the Set It Off reimagining for New Line Cinema. Her pilot sample WHAT THE FXCK NAOMI takes a comical look at the lives of millennials finding love and navigating life. Most recently, Nina is working on a feature film for Amazon, which centers around a young, black woman venturing through the tech world.
