Interview with Dr. Doug Darnowski “I am a Catholic educator who has been in the field for 2-3 decades (B.S., Yale; Ph.D., Cornell), having taught students from pre-K to graduate school. Previously, I was a professor for 20+ years, leaving that because giving honest opinions about the origins of Covid19 and saying that Jesus Christ was the solution to the world’s chaos saw me up on formal charges. They were dropped, but I could see another attempt to get rid of me starting, and I left for other things. I had been hired to be the principal of a small Catholic school in southern Tennessee, charged with making it Catholic classical/more rigorous/more fervent. When I tried to bring in the Baltimore Catechism for some grades, remove bad books (Harry Potter, etc.) and curricular materials (e.g., LGBTQ-promoting materials for the grades 1-4), some long-time parish families had a fit, and I lost that job (“for no cause”). My wife and I had packed our house and 15 kids (6 adopted internationally/handicapped), put it on the market, and had a house near the school under contract.
