Free Palestinian Cinema - with Yasmine AL MASSRI

💚❤️🖤🤍 In today's episode, I’m honored to have Yasmine Al Massri with me, an actress whose work embodies the rich, nuanced storytelling that Palestinian and Arab cinema is celebrated for. Yasmine is a Lebanese-born actress of Palestinian descent. Her journey into acting began in Paris, where she honed her craft in some of the most prestigious acting schools before making her screen debut in the critically acclaimed film "Caramel" directed by Nadine Labaki. Her performances have been praised for their authenticity and emotional depth, whether in international film festivals or mainstream Hollywood productions. Beyond her acting talent, Yasmine is an advocate for more nuanced and diverse representations of Arab and Muslim identities in cinema, using her platform to speak out against stereotyping and for greater inclusion in the film industry.⚙️ Credits:“Agadir” by Gnawa Masters."Succar Ya Banat” and “Rendez-vous manqués” (Original music from the film “Caramel”), composed by Khaled Mouzanar.“Pray For Lebanon”, composed by AIi Eldeeb.“Quantico - End Credits Theme”.“Red Rider”, “Nenna Nofinger”, and “Whip It” composed by Mateo Messina, on “Crossbones” official soundtrack.“Salam” (featured in the film “Between Heaven and Earth”), composed by Souad Massi and Khaled Izz (naïve, a label of Believe Group).“Ya Hala Bikoum” by Mohammad Al Badi (Lord Sound).“Before the Night Falls” and “Valse for Julian” by Gabriele Roberto, from Julian Schnabel: A Private Portrait (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (Air-Edel Records).“A Dream Within a Dream” (From Shōgun Original Soundtrack), composed by Atticus Ross, Leopold Ross, Nick Chuba (FX).Extract from the movie “Ma'eoulshe Lehad”, directed by Henry Barakat, with Samia Gamal dancing on a music from Farid El Atrache.Traditional Music of Palestine (from http://gopalestine.org/ Youtube channel).“Offering” (from Passages), composed by Ravi Shankar and Philip Glass (Dunvagen Music Publishers).Use of AI-generated voice (ElevenLabs).Post production: POG OFF Hébergé par Acast.
