School has started and Scout begins the third grade. As Jem is now in seventh grade they do not see each other as often. As a current events assignment, one student presents on Hitler's treatment Jewish people. Scout is confused about the general hate of Hitler, as she's been taught that hate is wrong. During the trial she heard her teacher expressing hatred for Negroes. She wonders why it's wrong to hate Hitler in Germany, but ok to express hate for Negroes in her own town. Thanks for listening.
