306: [FREE Weekly Episode] The Sea Orphan: Tere Jo Duperrault

On Monday, November 13th, 1961, a crewman aboard an oil tanker spotted something in the water.  It was a man in a dinghy, waving frantically to get their attention.  They rescued the man, and he told a harrowing story of how he found himself in the small vessel adrift at sea.  While some believed him, others had serious doubts about his story, and another rescue days later cast further doubts on his tale.  The second rescue was of 11 year old Tere Jo Duperrault, and she told a much different version of the events that left her adrift at sea.     ***TRIGGER WARNING*** Murder | Mentions of Suicide Hang with us: Follow Us on Instagram Like Us on Facebook Join our Case Discussion Group on Facebook Get Killer Queens Merch Bonus Episodes Support Our AMAZING Sponsors: Apostrophe: Get your first visit for only $5 at Apostrophe.com/QUEENS when you use our code: QUEENS. We could tell you about our show, but in the words of LeVar Burton, "don't take our word for it!" Here is an actual listener's description of the show: "Think Cher Horowitz meets Dolly Parton... create a love child. Then THAT person meets Bill Kurtis.... and two random girls are the product of that.... that's Tyrella and Tori (sisters and hosts). Smart, weird, pretty, blonde, hilarious, southern, and just really okay with being themselves.... even when it is weird. It made me realize [they] became their role models without even meaning to." Give it a try if you like ANY of those people and/or a lighter take on your True Crime!
