The series begins with THE SPIRIT OF DESTRUCTION, in which former spy Petra Shirazi comes face to face with the Ahriman, a deadly Iranian assassin named for the Persian spirit of destruction. The rest of the series follows their adventures together, and in the most recent book RECKONING FROM THE SHADOWS they become embroiled in a power struggle with Chinese intelligence that begins in Paris and culminates in the African Great Lakes region.
