Canadian author Margaret Atwood's 1985 novel 'The Handmaid's Tale' was, in 2017, enjoying a resurgence of interest. The dystopian totalitarian United States that it depicts came to life in a TV series of the same name. It was likened to living under Donald Trump's presidency.
