Gold spikes, bitcoin falls on geopolitical troubles
Spot gold hit a 20-month high, cresting $1,940 an ounce on Wednesday, when news of the Russian invasion of Ukraine broke. In contrast to gold, Bitcoin dropped, losing about 7% for the day and trading under $35,000.
