Hockey History: Dallas Stars' First Employee, Geoff Moore

When the Dallas Stars entered the NHL competition for the 1993-94 season they were starting from scratch. Geoff Moore was the first employee hired by the franchise and his 18 year journey with the organization took him all the way to Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Geoff sits down with me to talk about what it takes to introduce a new sport to a city, how expansion works, and the club's early Stanley Cup success during the 1998-99 season, becoming league champions after only six seasons. We also chat about a number of the personalities from this time period including Craig Ludwig, Ed Belfour, Sergei Zubov, Guy Carbonneau, Derian Hatcher, the infamous Mooterus jersey, and the team's relationship with heavy metal band Pantera. ***** Like, subscribe, and support Landry.Audio through these channels: Regular or one-time supporter donations: https://landry-audio.com/support Monthly newsletter: https://landry-audio.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/landry.audio/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LandrydotAudio Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/company/26566527/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-11LNfYV5qm5IB1hxBlr3w?sub_confirmation=1 Youtube "Landry Bits" with shortened segments: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8B0z2JUWwYM_qxxGc8tkoQ?sub_confirmation=1 Spotify: https://spoti.fi/2Sn0rqA Apple podcasts: https://apple.co/2SE7REW
