THE CONSUMING FIRE OF THE SPIRIT
“But who can endure the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap” (Mal 3.2). The first chapter of Ezekiel describes the glory of God as a consuming fire. It was this fire that fell on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2, and it is the fire we should pray for today. The fire of the Spirit purifies and consumes all wood, hay, and straw, revealing the glory of God where the unity of the Spirit is found. “The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one” (John 17:22-23). *** SIGN THE FAMILY PETITION!
