DANIEL LANOIS launches Heavy Sun

This week LaunchLeft welcomes the legendary Daniel Lanois from his home studio in Los Angeles California! He walks us through some of his earliest days in music, expounding upon how he connected with Brian Eno and later went on to co-produce with him many seminal records including U2’s The Joshua Tree. He gives us behind the scenes vignettes of Peter Gabriel’s SO and the iconic Emmylou Harris record “Wrecking Ball”. He also shares new tracks from the band Heavy Sun and offers a glimpse of his master wizardry by deconstructing the songs in real time. A special live performance by Heavy Sun closes out this week’s episode!--------------------LAUNCHLEFT OFFICIAL WEBSITEhttps://www.launchleft.comLAUNCHLEFT PATREONhttps://www.patreon.com/LaunchLeftTWITTERhttps://twitter.com/LaunchLeftINSTAGRAMhttps://www.instagram.com/launchleft/FACEBOOKhttps://www.facebook.com/LaunchLeft---------------------LaunchLeft is an alliance of left-of-center artists, a label, a podcast, a curation engine.LaunchLeft Podcast hosted by Rain Phoenix is an intentional space for Art and Activism that enlists famed creatives to launch emerging bands.LaunchLeft begins with music, but ultimately aims to launch left-of-center artists in all creative fields.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
