Episode 15 - The KEY Elements to Award-Winning Design, Blooms At An Accessible Price & The Value of Risk As A Business Owner w/ Janelle of Lavenders Flowers + Tono and Co
In this episode, Claire and Bri sit down with Janelle of Lavenders Flowers + Tono and Co to talk about what it's like to start your business as a creative. Janelle, who has just expanded her business to make beautiful blooms accessible at a lower price, shares with us how she got from where she started to the cover of Martha Stewart Weddings. She is an art director, a flower fairy godmother, and a wedding therapist. Janelle’s skills now include extracting information and interpreting that vision into tangible design elements that shape an entire event. That's why she says, “At Lavenders, it's more than just flowers”. Here, they work with intention. Actually, they LIVE with intention, so you can trust that we put deep thought into every detail, no matter how big or small. Lavenders is an expression of Janelle’s inner artist, using flowers as a medium to transform environments, express her clients vision, and curate ambiance. They do not take short-cuts, we are not afraid to get their hands dirty. Alongside designing for events, she shares everything she’s learned along the way to educate and empower creatives and entrepreneurs to realize their full potential. Janelle strives to create long-lasting bonds that are built on trust and a common wish for things that are wildly unique and magical. In addition to Lavenders Flowers, Janelle passionately operates a hand dyed silk textile company, Tono + Co. Working closely with brides for over a decade, color became the natural center of her work, leading to the tradition of hand-dyeing fabrics. Tono + co finds its inspiration in the first-hand knowledge she gained while studying painting & color theory in Florence, Italy. You don't want to miss this episode!
