Chikumo: Dealing with mental health and identity as a black woman in Northern Ireland

Trigger warning: this episode deals with experiences of racism. Chikumo is an incredible marketing consultant, content creator and public speaker based in Northern Ireland. In this powerful conversation she shares her experience of overcoming issues with her identity and mental health during a worldwide pandemic when the world also decided to sit up and take notice after the death of George Floyd. In this episode we discuss Chikumo's experience with therapy, navigating an interracial relationship, life in the pandemic and her experiences of racism here in Northern Ireland. This is honestly one of the most powerful conversations I've ever been a part of, and for Chikumo to share her experience just fills me with gratitude. Chikumo's blog and website are great resources to learn more and I've put some more resources I've found useful in my own journey in unlearning the inherent biases and tackling my own privilege that I didn't even realise I had until last year.
