The haunting would become so high-profile that police were pressured by superiors to write it off as a hoax and disperse the crowd. Famous paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were later accused of fabricating evidence. All the while, the family living in the home suffered at the hands of the unknown, and no one could help them.
