Brad Stine, coach of Tommy Paul and former coach of Jim Courier
In this episode, we are joined by Brad Stine. Stine has an impressive resume, including becoming the head coach of Fresno State University at just 26 years old. Six years later, he started coaching Jim Courier full-time. During their time together, Courier reached the No. 1 ranking and won four Grand Slams. Other players he has coached include Mardy Fish, Taylor Dent, Sébastien Grosjean, and Kevin Anderson. Today, he coaches Tommy Paul, ranked 13th in the world in singles. In the episode, we discuss how he and Paul use the available statistics, how he handles confrontations and discussions with players, pre- and post-match analysis routines with his players, the differences between coaching college players, juniors, and professionals, how to train a player’s focus during matches, footwork techniques, and the importance of selling his philosophy to a player's parents.
