43: Deny Your Ego
Christ said things like, "Deny yourself" and "Follow me." He also said, "Whoever seeks to save his life will lose his life." And that He came to bring not just a good life but "the Abundant life." This episode is about what others have described as "ego death" or the denying of the "separated self," which is everything in us that is not from God. The ego always wants control, always wants it's own way, and is never satisfied. I dive into Oswald Chambers excerpt from "My Utmost for His Highest" on the topic of "individuality" or "the ego" and how it is the shell which protects our real, personal life with God. It's not a bad thing as much as it is a layer that must be shed or denied to enter into union with GOD. I also share my personal testimony of how Jesus Christ changed my entire life, even my heart.
