Living in a natural world

Every year on June 5 it’s World Environment Day. In honour of the occasion, this week Marty and Venetia play songs from the 1970s that are somehow related to the environment. Some represent an early call to arms in the fight to protect natural environments and others merely describe different kinds of environments, such as suburbia, a sunny day, or blue skies. It’s a pretty loose category, that really just provides us an opportunity to play some great music.  Here at Living In the 70s, however, we do recommend that you check out what’s happening on World Environment Day and get involved in the fight against climate change. After all, together we can be #generationrestoration Living in the Seventies is brought to you by JOY 94.9, Australia’s only LGBTIQA+ radio station and community media organisation. Om Podcasten

Were you born in the Seventies? Join us for the sounds of the 70s every Saturday morning. Martin and Venetia will take you to the decade of denim flares, burnt orange kitchen benchtops and the birth of disco and glam rock! Each week we'll have a 70's theme that we'll explore, such as songs from disaster movies, movement anthems, one-hit wonders, daggy duets, funky numbers, and disco tracks that steamed up the dance floor in many an LGBTI venue, to name just a few. The 70s produced some amazing music and we're here to make sure that music is shared and never lost. NOTE: Due to music licencing requirements this podcast is unavailable outside of Australia.
