EP 28 - PARENTHOOD AND IDENTITY | the birth of the parent
Nobody is born a parent. It's a role people have to adapt to. It's often said that when a woman gives birth to a baby, she also gives birth to herself as a parent. This transition is experienced by fathers too. Becoming a parent can be a shock to the system, and some people might just want things back to how they used to be, no matter how happy they have also felt about it having a baby. For women, this developmental phase is called matrescence. In this episode, we discuss the beauty of matrescence and our struggles with it too!
