What is the Bible's definition of LOVE?
Is love only about feeling good and having emotions? Is love just giving to the poor and helping the needy? Or, does it involve more? ’ahab_a¯h (ahavah): A feminine noun meaning love. The word often signifies a powerful, intimate love between a man and a woman (Gen_29:20; Son_2:4-5, Son_2:7); love between friends (2Sa_1:26); God's love for His people (Isa_63:9; Hos_3:1). Frequently, it is associated with forming a covenant, which enjoins loyalty (Deu_7:8). When used in an abstract way, the word designates a desirable personal quality, which connotes affection and faithfulness (Pro_15:17; Pro_17:9).
