Diane Danzebrink on why we all need to #MakeMenopauseMatter

My guest on this episode is a well-known voice in the UK menopause community and a hero to many (though she'd be far too humble to accept the accolade I'm sure): Diane Danzebrink. Her campaign, #MakeMenopauseMatter has over 170,000 supporters at the latest count and she has been instrumental in changing the dialogue around menopause, and campaigning for better education - in schools, in workplaces, and yes, for our GPs too.  She talks about how her own surgical menopause brought her to the darkest of places, and how her experience - and her rage at how many other women were suffering needlessly - led her to start the non-profit organisation Menopause Support from her kitchen table. We talk about how much has changed since she started out in 2015 as a lone (and often lonely) voice speaking out about her experience and campaigning for change, the recent successes, her plans for the future and what she hopes the menopause landscape will look like in 2027... Om Podcasten

Hi, I’m Emma Thomas and I started the Middling Along podcast in early 2021. Often, we find as women hitting a ‘certain point’ in life, that we are so used to people-pleasing, and making sure that everyone else is OK, and their needs are met, that we have lost touch with what we want, what we need, who we are… I started Middling Along with the aim of reclaiming my own ‘midlife’ and finding my happy. Along the way we’ve covered stories of people starting new businesses, changing careers, and taking up new hobbies that have changed their lives forever. We also cover topics such as perimenopause, menopause, and positive aging. Join us for a dose of inspiration - and make sure you spend your ’messy middle’ years thriving too!
