I am a hermit, a loner, but I don't live in a cabin in the woods. I have a job and I have bills to pay. I need to live in the modern world. I am a modern hermit. More and more, people are waking up to the benefits of isolation and solitude. Human interaction is a burden, and humanity is naturally corrupt and oppressive, which necessitates isolation. Greed, exploitation and hierarchy are all around us. Many are finding that it is beneficial to isolate themselves from humanity to ensure their own survival and sanity. A life alone can be very fulfilling and freeing.
