Episode 4: Alopecia with Deana

Deana is an aspiring costume designer currently going into her final year in IADT, originally from Wicklow but based in Dublin, she has a passion for sustainable fashion and incorporates that at the core of her work.

Deana developed alopecia around the age of 14 and from that began her own personal journey with hair loss. Through this she experienced her own battles with "insecurities" and "body image issues" and it took her  a long time to overcome her mindset at that difficult time and embrace her own natural beauty.

Deana's goal is to promote and normalise the beauty of alopecia and all non conforming beauty to show that beauty has no limitations and there is not one set standard.

Thank you to Depop for facilitating these brilliant conversations. My depop shop of the week this week is Deana's recommendation: @essiistore for incredible vintage and re worked clothing with streetwear labels for a fraction of the price than the high street.
