Episode 279 - When God Builds, It’s a Masterpiece with Rachel Raih
“I can’t do this, but it is the assurance that God is the Builder. Because if I could do anything in my strength, it’s worthless. So, it’s good that I can’t do it, but God can.” Our wonderful Moms in Prayer Heartland Division Coordinator, Rachel Raih, joins us on the podcast today. She reminds us of the assurance, hope and peace that is found in trusting God to be our Master Builder. Listen in as Rachel shares encouragement of what God is doing around the world as He builds His Kingdom. The Moms in Prayer Podcast is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. Her heart was stirred and now she has been praying in a Moms in Prayer group for 32 years! After serving for 10 years as our Iowa State Coordinator, she now serves as our Heartland Division Coordinator, overseeing seven states. She plans to continue to pray in a group as long as the Lord gives her the physical and mental ability. Her oldest son battled severe asthma which resulted in a number of emergency room visits and hospitalizations throughout his childhood on up to college. She would battle anxiety and fear whenever he developed a runny nose or cough and a feeling of dread would come over her. Many weeks he would be the one of the four children that were covered in prayer in her Moms in Prayer hour. This brought great peace, hope and strength. God answered so many prayers on his behalf and today he is healthy and his asthma is well controlled. Rachel lives with her husband, Darrel, of 44 years in Sioux Center, Iowa. They have four adult children and the wonderful blessing of being grandpa and grandma to seven grandchildren with number eight due to arrive soon! SCRIPTURES For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. Hebrews 3:4 NIV So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:27-28 NKJV Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. Ephesians 2:19-22 NIV you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:5 NIV Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. 1 Corinthians 3:8-9 NKJV But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 1 Corinthians 1:27 NIV Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. Psalm 127:1 NIV LINKS MOMS IN PRAYER New to Moms in Prayer?
