3. Student Loans

University is a new and exciting time for many people. But between student accommodation, applying or repaying loans, and working alongside studies, there are lots of areas that can be confusing when it comes to money while you’re a student. Bea heads to Sheffield to talk to Katharine Swindells, the former welfare officer for The University of Sheffield Students’ Union. She explains some of the problems students can face while at university, and lays out the important solutions that are necessary to know if you’re currently at or thinking about university. Bea also has a chat with Sabrina, a current student, about her experiences of student loans and her perspective on support offered by universities. If you’re interested in studying abroad like Sabrina did, you can find more information about the Erasmus programme here: https://www.erasmusprogramme.com. For help, details of organisations offering information and support with issues discussed, are available at www.bbc.co.uk/actionline.
