Katie Hampton - How to be a vocalist, not a singer

Katie Hampton is a Los Angeles-based session singer and performer. Born and raised in LA, Katie grew up around a wide variety of music, her dad being a film and TV composer. She studied at McGill University in Montreal, where she earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance degree. Since 2007 Katie has been one of the lead singers for Sergio Mendes, touring and performing in venues including the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall, and the Sydney Opera House. She also sings backgrounds for the wonderful Aubrey Logan, and sings and plays synths for indie-rock band Opus Orange.    In the studio Katie has recorded vocals for over 40 films and tv shows, including the theme song for Don’t Trust the B in Apt 23, Rogue One, Star Trek Beyond, and Modern Family.   She lives in Silver Lake with her husband.   IG: @hamptonmusic   www.katiehampton.com   www.davejohnstone.com
