8: Olwen Rees

Heno fe fydd Elin Fflur yn ymweld â’r actores a’r gantores Olwen Rees yng ngardd ei chartref ym mhentref Wenfô ar gyrion Caerdydd. Yn ferch i’r gantores Sassie Rees ac yn briod â’r actor a’r diddanwr Johnny Tudor mae adloniant a pherfformio wedi bod yn ran anferth o’i bywyd ac mae Olwen wedi bod yn serennu ar sgrin ac ar lwyfan ers dros 50 mlynedd. O flaen tanllwyth o dân mae’r atgofion yn llifo o gyfnod ei phlentyndod yng Nghaernarfon, i fwrlwm cyfnod euraidd y byd adloniant yng Nghymru yn y 70au ac fe fydd y ddwy yn trafod dawnsio, teithio, mwynhau bywyd a’r cyfleoedd sydd ar gael i ferched wrth fynd yn hŷn. In this episode Elin visit’s actress and singer Olwen Rees at her home in Wenvoe, Cardiff. Her mother, Sassie Rees, had her own radio and television series, so it is no wonder that Olwen decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a professional singer and actress resulting in a career spanning over fifty years on stage and screen. As the sun goes down, they both settle in front of the fire to reminisce about her upbringing in Caernarfon, the early days of television entertainment in Wales in the 70’s and discuss all sorts from dancing and travelling to the secrets of growing old gracefully.
