Episode 5: #BHM - The S Word

Your 2 Black Friends are back at it again AND back in Los Angeles. In “What’s On Your Timeline?” Re’Sean talks about his experience leading worship at Saddleback Church 40th Anniversary Celebration! Dustin discusses getting back the his regular routine from being away. “In These Streets” this week, we are reminded yet again just how white those golden Oscar’s are! But it wasn’t all bad, the culture had some big moments to shine: the animated short “Hair Love” & The Royal Family take home big wins, & the show caught a few moments of seasoning full of #BlackGirlMagic & #BlackBoyJoy with performances from Janelle Monáe, Billy Porter & Cynthia Erivo! “Kale & Okra” get put into M2BF’s FIRST “Intermission” of the season! Leslie Jones proves why it’s so dope to have black friends. Oh, and can we say #Cheddarbae?

You already know what your friends are getting into! BLACK HISTORY MONTH is still in full effect! Dustin & Re’Sean discuss why slavery is still a topic of discussion in 2020! They tell you how it seeps into 5 (of many other) categories today: Mass Incarceration • Jobs • Wealth • Redlining • Education. And that caucasious spirit is still can’t stop, won’t stop! “The Caucasity” lists the accounts of how racism has shaped the worlds view of beauty based on European scales. And to bring it all home, this week’s RFM is all about how to deal with the emotions of when your friends don’t understand your journey or calling, & moving forward without them. Class is FOR SURE in session, so grab your notebooks, grab ya friends & dice right in on Episode 5: The S Word!

Once private conversations now public by popular demand, two black friends (Dustin Baker & ReSean Pates) invite you to the cookout… well, at least let you listen in through the fence. These southern bred gentlemen will give you their hilarious take on current events, entertainment, events happening in The City of Angels, and the caucasity the plagues the world around us. But fret not (white friends), your two black friends will educate and guide you through. Because we all know the truth is black and white but ‘round here… it’s mostly black.
