Natalia Reads a letter from a 20-year old Hunter S. Thompson (Life advice from 1958)

Just listen to how profound human communication can be... and how much time we waste seeking advice in places that have no advice for us.Listen to how beautiful and meaningful human communication can be, how much wisdom we possess as humans... and think how many words are wasted today to convince people to buy life advice or printed words of wisdom.*****The inimitable Hunter S. Thompson was just 20 years of age and still in the U.S. Air Force when, in April of 1958, he wrote this profoundly wise letter to his friend Hume Logan in response to a request for life advice. It would be another ten years until Thompson’s own career gathered pace, due in no small part to a brave exposé of the Hell’s Angels that he wrote after a year in their company. Arguably his most famous book, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, soon followed, as did much of the Gonzo journalism for which he is now known. In 2005, with his health in decline, Thompson took his own life. From Letters of Notehttps://books.lettersofnote.com/products/letters-of-note-paperback

Om Podcasten

Hi, I'm Natalia Tokar, and I am not a native speaker.I created the methodology and the system of exercises to achieve native-like fluency in English because I couldn't find it anywhere. I've always been driven by the idea of effortless mastery and virtuosity. I learn new skills with one simple idea in mind - I want to be able to apply them in my everyday life situations, specifically in my spontaneous conversations with native speakers. To do so, I need to master the fundamental skills of building relationships in a foreign language. Native-like fluency is all about being able to be yourself and belong with others in every conversation, because every conversation is an opportunity to nurture the relationship.I say that effort must be effortful, where effort brings joy. My approach is based on following deliberate practice routines and receiving human feedback. Become a daring learner who can learn directly from the source and seek feedback from more advanced learners. When you know how you learn, you can create your own curriculum. I am an educator with 17 years of teaching experience and a creative business owner with 10 years of experience in global sales & cross-cultural communications.I share the methodology and my own practice routine in the community of practice and in the online programs that I create. WebsiteCommunity Hosted on Acast.
