Breaking: Hundreds of public service jobs set to go

As New Zealand returns into a technical recession, with GDP falling 0.1% in the December quarter, the axe is falling on hundreds of jobs across New Zealand’s public service. Around 180 roles are likely to be disestablished at the Ministry of Health, while the Ministry of Primary Industries is planning to cut 9% of its staff. Sources at the Ministry of Education, ACC, WorkSafe, Crown Law, MBIE and other departments have also confirmed to Stuff that jobs will go.
