War in the Middle East: life in Gaza one year on

It has been nearly a year since an attack by Hamas killed over 1,200 Israeli civilians and saw another 250 taken hostage. Israel’s retaliation is estimated to have killed more than 41,000 Palestinians so far. James Elder is a global spokesperson for UNICEF and spoke to Newsable from Gaza about how those still there are coping. UNICEF Aotearoa is currently running a Children of Gaza crisis appeal, where Kiwis can donate to support their long-term work on the ground.
