Episode 187 - Midnight Special

Welcome back to Not A Bomb podcast! This is the show where we go back and re-examine some of the biggest bombs in cinematic history and see if they deserve a second chance. On this episode, we keep the sci-fi training rolling as we discuss 2016’s Midnight Special. This film highlights why the sci-fi genre can be so enthralling and is one of our favorite genres to discuss. Even though critics seemed to adore this little movie, Midnight Special didn’t get much attention from the general public when it released in theaters. Trust us, Midnight Special has amazing worldbuilding, interesting characters, thrilling action set pieces, oscar caliber performances, and so much more. WARNING…if you are interested in the film, and you should be, just know that we discuss the ending and it’s possible meanings. Midnight Special is directed by Jeff Nichols and stars Michael Shannon, Joel Edgerton, Kirsten Durst, Adam Driver, Jaeden Martell, and Sam Shepard.
