Episode 76 - Heaven's Gate

Howdy Partner, and welcome back to Not A Bomb. This the podcast where we reexamine the biggest box office flops of all time and see if they deserve a second chance. On this episode, Troy and Brad welcome back Sammy from the GGTMC to discuss the 3 AND A HALF HOURS LONG, western - Heaven’s Gate. This film is widely known as one of the biggest financial flops of all time and was Michael Cimino’s follow-up to his Academy Award winning film- The Deer Hunter. Cimino was given a blank check for Heaven’s Gate and the production spiraled out of control within the first week of shooting. Join Troy, Brad and Sammy as they talk about the late, great Z-Channel, the crazy production tales involving a self-obsessed director, and the real-life events that inspired the script. Heaven’s Gate is directed by Michael Cimino and stars Kris Kristfferson, Christopher Walken, John Hurt, Sam Waterson, Brad Dourif, Isabelle Huppert, Jeff Bridges, and Joseph Cotten.
