Episode 82 - Raging Fire

Happy New Year, and welcome back to another face kicking episode of Not A Bomb. Using the “Donnie Yen” clause in the podcast bylaws, the boys are starting the new year talking about 2021’s Hong Kong police/action film - Raging Fire. This is Benny Chan’s final directorial film before his passing in 2020 and feels like a throwback to classic Hong Kong cinema of the 80’s and 90’s. Raging Fire is the story of a righteous cop who must cross paths with his former protégé. Both Troy and Brad think this is one of the best action films from last year, if not the last 5 years, and recommend you seek it out immediately. To kick off the podcast, the guys talk about their holiday break and some of the films they watched. Additionally, Troy explains the reason why there are seven production companies on this film and the difficulties working within the Chinese government. Oh, and obviously, the boys guy-crush over Donnie Yen for a solid hour. Raging Fire is directed by Benny Chan and stars Donnie Yen, Nicholas Tse, and Qin Lan.
