Dr. Charles Limb is the Francis A. Sooy Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the Chief of the Division of Otology, Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery at UC San Francisco. His current areas of research focus on the study of the neural basis of musical creativity and the study of music perception in deaf individuals with cochlear implants. Dr. Limb and host David Kepron talk about jazz, creativity, music as language, how we are discovering more about creativity, what areas of the brain are active when in the Flow state and how fMRI studies with accomplished jazz musicians can help to bring more creativity to everybody. Dr. Limb believes that creativity should save the world and he's on a mission to discover how.
