Episode 339 - Taip Ramadani Interview

We don't need to tell you how much we love the sport of handball and today we're excited to welcome our first ever Olympic handball player to the show to talk about his incredible career and the amazing sport itself! Taip Ramadani represented Australia at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 and has since gone on to forge a successful career in the sport and is the current coach of the men's national handball team. And in an incredible chat, Taip joins us to go over his early roots in the sport and his incredible journey along the way! We find out just what the experience of playing for Australia at the Olympics was like and just what it meant to the sport in general in the country. We also find out how the sport and team are tracking in the lead up to the Brisbane Olympics and what lessons from Sydney can be learnt to help the sport grow even further post 2032. Added to this we also hear about a 'secret team' that was put together to possibly represent Australia in handball in Sydney 2000, just why he made sure him and his teammates walked out into the Opening Ceremony despite them having to play the World Champions Sweden the next day and just what incredibly odd thing a coach once said to him that helped spur him on in his sport.
