Frontier Town - Her Name Is Burbon Kate
Last winter had been an especially severe winter, colder than usual with almost constant snows so deep and heavy that even the winter range was useless, cattle froze, starved and died right and left. It was late in February up in the mountain town appropriately named Headstone, the principle business building in Headstone is a long narrow room operated as a cafe or ´ saloon and run by a strange hard faced woman called Burbon Kate. This particular night was a blustery one, Kate’s saloon was empty for a change and Kate stood behind the bar cleaning up and polishing glasses when suddenly the door opened and the sheriff entered. . .
